Migrate / From Zoho Desk

Move from Zoho Desk without the drama.

Thinking about leaving Zoho Desk for a UK-first, email-first desk? We will be straight with you. There is no automatic Zoho Desk importer in Solves yet, so a switch today is guided and partly by hand. The email side is the quick bit: point your support address at Solves and start owning tickets the same day, while Zoho Desk keeps your archive safe.

Honest about what moves automatically and what does not.

No automatic Zoho Desk import yet

We want to set expectations before you read on. Solves does not have a one-click Zoho Desk importer today. An assisted migration is part of our pilot, so the move is guided: your email comes across straight away, and we carry over saved replies, tags and settings by hand. If a fully automated transfer is a hard requirement for you right now, Solves is not yet the right tool, and we would rather tell you that here.

The honest version

What actually moves, and what we do by hand

A migration page should tell you the truth before it sells you anything. So here is exactly how leaving Zoho Desk for Solves works today, with nothing dressed up as automatic when it is not.

The email itself moves quickly and cleanly. Solves works by receiving your support email, so once you have run the mailbox checks for your support address, new enquiries land in Solves as owned tickets the same day. You do not migrate live email; you simply start pointing it at a desk that turns it into trackable work.

Your existing Zoho Desk content is the part that takes hands-on care. There is no importer that pulls historical tickets, contacts and macros across automatically, so we treat the move as a guided exercise. On the migration call we look at what you actually rely on, recreate your saved replies and tags in Solves, and set up brands, mailboxes and permissions to match how your team works. Old tickets stay readable in Zoho Desk for as long as you keep that account.

What comes across the same day

  • New support email, as owned tickets, once your mailbox checks pass
  • Forwarding from a Gmail or Outlook shared inbox, or from a Zoho Desk forwarding address, pointed at your new Solves mailbox
  • Your team, with per-brand access and notes-only collaborators where you want them
  • A working queue with assignment, ticket states, priority, tags and private notes from day one

What we recreate together, by hand

  • Saved replies, rebuilt per brand or shared across your organisation
  • Tags and the queue views your team filters by
  • Brands, their mailboxes and brand-locked sender identities
  • SLA targets for first response and resolution, set per brand or organisation-wide

Why teams look at Solves

What you gain by moving

The honest reasons a Zoho Desk team chooses Solves. Fit, not a free-versus-paid argument.

Email-first, on purpose

Solves does one job well: turning support email into owned, timed tickets. No chat, phone or social to configure and ignore. If email is your channel, the whole product is built around it.

True multi-brand

Run several brands from one login and one unified queue, each with its own mailbox, signature and saved replies, and a guard against replying as the wrong brand.

SLA timers

First-response and resolution timers with per-brand targets, and a breaching view that surfaces overdue tickets.

Saved replies that fit

Real saved replies, scoped per brand or shared, with no placeholder fields to maintain. Quick to rebuild on the migration call.

Encrypted at rest

Customer support content is encrypted at rest with per-organisation keys, access is authorised-only, and logs are metadata-only with no message bodies or addresses.

GBP team bands

UK pricing in pounds, ex VAT, with VAT-visible invoices. You size the plan to the team rather than paying a full seat for every occasional helper.

How the switch works

Five steps from Zoho Desk to a live Solves queue

Book the migration call

Tell us how your Zoho Desk is set up: how many brands and mailboxes, what saved replies and tags you rely on, and which channels you actually use. We plan the move around what you keep.

Set up your mailboxes

Add a brand for each identity and run the plain-English mailbox checks. We use a forwarding-first setup, so new email starts flowing without a risky cut-over.

Rebuild what matters

Together we recreate your saved replies, tags, queue views and SLA targets in Solves. This is the hands-on part, and we do it with you rather than handing you a blank desk.

Run both side by side

New support email lands in Solves while Zoho Desk holds your archive. Nothing is deleted on their side, so you can take a few days to settle with zero pressure.

Cancel on your timeline

Once your team is comfortable and you have everything you need from the old account, cancel Zoho Desk whenever it suits you. No artificial deadline from us.

Being fair to Zoho Desk

When Zoho Desk is the right call to stay

We are not going to pretend Zoho Desk is a bad product, because it is not, and a migration page that trashes the incumbent is just marketing. Zoho Desk offers a free edition for up to three agents, which is a genuinely fair option for a very small team that does not need SLAs or a broader workflow engine. If that is you and it works, staying put is a sensible choice.

Zoho Desk also sits inside the wider Zoho suite, with omnichannel options and a deep feature set that go well beyond email. Solves does not try to match that. We are email-first and deliberately narrow: no live chat, no phone, no social inboxes, no contact-centre. If you genuinely need those channels in one platform, a broader suite is the better fit and we will say so plainly.

Where Solves tends to win for the right team

The teams who move are usually UK SMEs who want pricing in pounds, real multi-brand from a single queue, first-response and resolution SLA timers with a breaching view, and a tool small enough to use fully rather than a suite they only touch a fraction of. The decision should come down to fit and focus, not a discount, and certainly not the false promise of a one-click import.

Already on a shared inbox?

Coming straight off Gmail or Outlook is the easy path

If part of your support already lives in a Gmail or Outlook shared inbox alongside Zoho Desk, that part is the simplest to move. Our forwarding-first mailbox setup is a shipped, everyday feature: you forward the shared inbox to a Solves mailbox, the messages become owned tickets with assignment, states and private notes, and you stop losing replies in a thread nobody owns.

This matters during a Zoho Desk migration because it lets you bring the messy, un-ticketed corners of your support into Solves immediately, while we plan the more involved Zoho Desk content move by hand. You get an early, real win on day one rather than waiting for the whole switch to finish.

Honest comparison

Zoho Desk and Solves, side by side

A fair look at where each desk fits. Solves is email-first and narrow by choice; Zoho Desk is a broader suite.

Competitor facts last verified 13 June 2026. Re-check the vendor's current plans before deciding.

Solves does not claim feature parity with the wider Zoho suite. Zoho Desk has a free edition for up to three agents and a far broader feature set. If you need chat, phone or social channels in one platform, Zoho Desk or a similar suite is the better fit. Competitor details were verified on the date shown and may change; check the current Zoho Desk pricing page before deciding.

Email-first, and we mean it

Solves handles support email: tickets, ownership, notes, SLAs and multi-brand. It does not do live chat, phone or social inboxes. If those channels are central to how you support customers, keep them where they are or stay on a broader suite. We would rather you choose Solves for what it does than be disappointed by what it deliberately does not.

FAQ

Migrating from Zoho Desk

Can Solves import my Zoho Desk tickets automatically?

Not yet. There is no automatic Zoho Desk importer in Solves today, and we will not pretend otherwise. Moving across is a guided process: you point your support email at Solves and start owning new tickets straight away, and we help you carry over the things that matter, such as saved replies and tags, by hand. An assisted migration is part of our pilot, so book a guided migration and we will plan it with you rather than promise a one-click transfer that does not exist.

Will I lose my Zoho Desk ticket history if I switch?

No. Your Zoho Desk account stays exactly as it is while you move. Nothing is deleted on their side when you start using Solves, so your historical tickets remain readable in Zoho Desk for as long as you keep that account. The recommended approach is to run both side by side for a short window: new email lands in Solves, while Zoho Desk holds the archive until you are confident.

Is Zoho Desk not free? Why would I move?

Zoho Desk does have a free edition for up to three agents, and that is genuinely useful for a very small team, so we are not going to claim it is not. People look at Solves when they want a UK-first, email-first desk with GBP pricing, true multi-brand from a single queue, first-response and resolution SLA timers with a breaching view, and a deliberately small feature set rather than a broad suite. If Zoho Desk fits you, stay on it. The honest case for moving is fit, not a free-versus-paid argument.

How long does a guided migration take?

The email side is fast. Once your mailbox checks pass, new support email can be landing as owned tickets in Solves the same day. Carrying across saved replies, tags and team settings by hand usually takes an hour or two of focused work, depending on how much you have built up in Zoho Desk. We plan it with you on the migration call so there are no surprises, and you can go live one brand or one mailbox at a time.

Do I have to cancel Zoho Desk before I start?

No, and we would advise against it. Keep your Zoho Desk subscription running until your team is settled on Solves and you have everything you need out of the old account. Because Solves works by receiving your support email, you can switch new tickets across without touching your Zoho Desk billing, then cancel on your own timeline once you are happy.

Plan your move from Zoho Desk

No one-click promises and no pressure. Book a guided migration and we will plan an honest switch around what your team actually uses.
